I've spent over 11 years in the beauty industry, on a path that's taken me from makeup artistry into skin health, nursing, and facial aesthetics. It started with a makeup course, which led to retail makeup and then education and training for a major makeup brand. Even back then, I had my eye on cosmetic nursing — though I told myself I could do something similar without having to become a nurse. While completing my business degree, I worked as a skin specialist, getting hands-on experience with skin health and treatments. Turns out I couldn't help myself upskilling, and I became a Registered Nurse anyway. That took me into colorectal nursing (I know random), where I studied facial aesthetics and anatomy on the side, all while continuing my original passion of painting faces. Completing my cosmetic nursing training brought it all together. Today, I combine my background in makeup, skin and clinical nursing with a skin-focused approach to facial aesthetics. Years spent studying faces through makeup gave me an eye for proportion, balance and detail that now shapes how I assess and treat the face.
